Uncompromisingly Pro-life?

Well, it was bound to happen eventually, but I finally got the big thumbs down from Alan Avans of the CDU for my idea to depoliticize abortion as a watered down version of RoeVWade that could never be part of their platform. I kind of thought already this would happen, but it still stings some.
I know that effective political activism always works with a group and picks ones battles, but I really don’t see Christian witness through political activism improving greatly without getting beyond the traditional frame on this issue. It seems like we’re repeating history, rather than learning from history, particularly that of the abolitionists who helped to pitch us into a terrible bloody civil war that had a limited effect in improving the rights of African-Americans.
So we’ll see what happens. Maybe Pam Ellison will take on my idea. She told me she would read it, but that was like two months ago and I have not heard from her either way. I know she’s trying to avoid the controversial issues, but I think in elections, when one party prioritizes an issue, it is always incumbent on the other candidates to take positions on that issue.
