Agree. The willingness to avoid power-position one finds attractive might be one of the most important qualities of real leaders and stepping down is often a step forward in the leadership-development. You don´t have to be an anarchist (like me) to see this, I think. Maybe presidents in “christian” countries could learn from the established church, where there have been times when they had do drag the becoming biships from his monastery to his installation by force, or where bishops litterally has fled the positions of power… (Of course, we have the exampel of the not so non-influent rabbi from Nasareth).
That’s interesting…
It’s true that some of the best leaders have been people who didn’t want the trappings of power.
