I can smell that from Michigan

They turned off the water today for maintenance. I used to laugh at my friend Heather because her apartment complex was always turning off the water. I got the notice yesterday, I think, and promptly forgot about it, and the idea that maybe I should get up before 8 a.m. to have my shower.
I rediscovered this the hard way. And now I start my second week of work with no shower. You can fake some of the hygiene, but I still feel gross. My hair never does well without a wash.
And as I write this, I remember a faint glimpse of my dream, which was probably my way of telling myself to get up and get a shower. I dreamed I got interrupted while showering, and so my hair still had shampoo in it. Then I must’ve had to leave the house like that.

The great thing about water being turned off is the nice, brown, air-filled quality it has when it’s turned back on. Mmmmmm. I remember avoiding drinking the water for about a day after it was shut off.

Remember? What’s my problem? They just turned off my water again last week or the week before, I believe. Good God…
