My first view of the city was covered in clouds. I concentrated more on driving safely over the long, huge Bay Bridge than on the view.
But San Francisco, as is Oakland, is built into the hills. It’s an impressive sight, all the houses packed into the hills, sloping down to the bay.

My Christmas spirit is beginning to revive, just a little bit, as the date nears. I will ignore the blood-curdling incident at Best Buy yesterday, and say that I almost can tolerate Christmas right now.

I can see where Christmas is a stressful time of year, why it causes a lot of depression.
In me, it just causes anger. I start with the stress, made worse this year by an earlier deadline. I knew if I didn’t get my presents sent out NOW, they wouldn’t make it in time.

…when you catch your breath at the thought of buying gas at $2.07. Sounds very cheap. Across the street, another station was selling gas for $2.15. I knew I could do better than that, and the $2.07 gas station was too hard to get to.
