Ok, I perhaps understand better. Kind of. My open spaces are not the same as his open spaces, however. Though I can't seem to get anything to work, or get anything done.

I get the sense that no one sees the connection between mel's dream and THE SHINING. Allow me to elaborate: Think of the empty huge space of the resort. And then think of all of Jack's writing. When I watch the film, it seems to be entirely about all of these hugs gaps or spaces that threaten to overwhelm the family, unless they can make sense of it, fill those gaps, through writing.

I think most people have these kinds of nightmares in which their work day seems to have never really ended, but has carried over into their dreaming life. I don't have these nightmares so much anymore, probably because I am very happy at my work, but when I held routine, dull jobs during college I would have nightmares like that.

Watch out, Heather!
