Uncut grass, green and healthy, long unattended. A red cart, newly arrived, makes its resting place here.
Plastic grating, the kind of cart seen at drug stores. Not a grocery cart, this one.
It has held stuffed animals no one needs, bought on an impulse buy. It has held toilet paper and makeup and candy. It temporarily stored cheap children’s toys. Cold medicine. Picture frames. As-seen-on-TV specials. $29.95.
Foot massagers. Gifts unwanted by anyone.
Perhaps it feels at home, abandoned here even as the shin-high grass has been abandoned.
