I’m not impressed

How “street” are you if your woody PT Cruiser has a fake bullet hole in the back? And your license plate says something about your PT Woody. And your license plate frame says something about your PT Woody.

I’m not impressed.

  1. It depends. Does the PT have those hub caps that spin, even when the car is sitting still? Now that’s the mark of a real “street” machine. [sarcasm drips like acid from my tongue]

My mother-in-law has a PT. They look really cool but drive like crap. The turning radius is very wide, making it a bitch to park, the first few times you try; and it’s generally speaking not a comfortable car to sit in or drive. When I drive it, I feel like I’m in a go-cart or something. I keep looking for the AWOO-GAH horn to squeeze.

  2. I’ve heard that they’re also cheaply made.

However, I can understand the pride in loving something for its looks, even if it is crap, or drives like crap. But a fake bullet hole?

And these people were way suburb. Well, what passes for suburban in Fresno. Which is to say, they were so northeast Fresno.

  3. This car is STREET. It violates your licence plate rule, but has no bullet holes, fake or otherwise.

    Now that’s classy. :-)

  5. That car is awesome. I\’ve always loved it. ;-)

No fake bullet holes for my dad.

Did you win anything at that show?

  6. Lynette,
    Thanks!
    Mel,
I had transmission up-shift problems on the way to the show, but got 2nd place in my class. (I know, 2nd place is first loser)!!!
The car ran fine on the way home, but needless to say I’m going to be servicing my transmission real soon.

  7. Don’t be so hard on yourself, Dad.

Fixing your transmission is going to be expensive, isn’t it? Is it something you can do yourself?

  8. Think I’d take your dad’s car over a PT any day. Todd’s mom, though, she likes the PT, points out every one she sees (and there are a lot of them out there). Those fake bullet holes just annoy me, no matter what car they’re one. It’s like the new “baby on board” sign or something.

  9. And it’s like the fake flames. As if that’ll make it go faster.
