I chanted this at my computer as I revived it from death.
Or mostly dead, like Westley in The Princess Bride.

I don’t know how long I’ve got it working for. But I’m going to back up stuff now.

MIRACLE MAX Sonny, True Love is the greatest thing in the world … except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich … when the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato’s ripe. They’re so perky. I love that. But that’s not what he said! He distinctly said, “to blaithe”. And as we all know, “to blaithe” means “to bluff”. So, you were probably playing cards and he cheated …
And I love my computer. I love it despite its deficiencies and inability to play Oblivion at full speed. I love its crankiness sometimes, and more importantly, the fact that it is paid for and is currently working. I won’t curse at it again.
For a full day, I promise.

Great news! So what was wrong with it, and what did you do to it to bring it back from the dead? I love The Princess Bride, so I loved this post as well. Very creative use of that film.
Witty use of PB, to be sure, but what I loved was the reference to a game show I used to love. What WAS that show called anyway? Joker’s Wild?? Whatever. Loved the No Whammy bit

Yeah. That’s the show…loved the cartoon whammys that showed up. Hyper little devils as I recall.
OK. Wasting time, I looked up Press Your Luck and found this fascinating story about Michael Larsen, the out-of-work ice cream truck driver who hit it big on the show. Anybody else heard of this guy?

I don’t think they did, but you can pull down video from it online. Not that I’ve done that (yet…)
