Not bragging
Conversation between me and my dad:
Me: “It’s about 100 degrees right now –”
Dad, interrupting: “Shut up! You suck! You suck!”
Me: “No, no, I’m not trying to brag. Really, believe me, 100 degrees is nothing to brag about.”
Dad says a cold front went through the midwest. Here, it has been hitting 100 for about three days.
It’s a little early to be this hot. It may not stay this hot.
Actually, it got hotter after I talked to my dad earlier in the afternoon. The thermometer says it’s 102. It just keeps getting hotter until about this time of day.
Yesterday, I went swimming twice. Today, if the pool dies down, I might go for a second time.
It’s about 96 degrees in the house. The cats have stopped moving. I have stopped moving. My dad says we’re too cheap and to turn on the air.
I think it’s too early to give in to the air, though I gave into air conditioning in my car yesterday. A bit of healthy sweating is probably good for me.
All I can say is that there’s nothing to brag about when your house feels like a furnace.
You’re right, that is too hot, and it’s too early for it to be that sweltering. It’s still pretty cool here in the east, thankfully. Rainy and cool. It rained all last night and into the morning, keeping the temperature around 60 degrees all day.
That’s right where it should stay the rest of the summer, as far as I am concerned. I don’t like hot summer months particularly.
Mel,
You know what the baby chicken said, right?????
No… I suppose you’re going to tell me, right?
Anyway, the weather changed for the weird. I haven’t been able to swim in days because it has been too chilly. It also is raining right now.
Raining in Fresno. It’s too late for rain here. And it’s 54 degrees right now, but it’s early. It should get up into the high 60s today. Happy?
Cheep, Cheep, Cheep!
