New fetish?

It’s well-known, at least among Fresnans (natives or longtime Fresno dwellers) that the Fresno area is weird. Weird things happen here. It’s the place where a man (Marcus Wesson) can have sex with his relatives and then direct them to kill small children. It’s the place where a woman (Larissa Schuster, technically of Clovis) has been convicted of stuffing her husband in a barrel of acid. It’s also where Amber Frey (of Scott Peterson’s girlfriend fame) comes from. And to finish off the list, though not crime-related, Fresno also is at least partly responsible for K-Fed.

I don’t know what it is about the Fresno area. It could be the blend of large shifting populations and rednecks and gangs. You might even say it spices things up.

Which is why I cannot contain myself any longer in writing about the now infamous spice rub and sausage attack.

It’s all anyone has been able to talk about, for days, and it has even made it to The Smoking Gun.

The official story is that a guy broke into a home and attacked its sleeping occupants. One he threw spice rub at, and the other he hit with an 8-inch sausage.

Much cleverer people have already made countless jokes about it. All I can imagine is that it’s something to do with a fetish.

“It seems the guy ran out of the house wearing only a T-shirt, boxer shorts and socks, leaving behind his wallet with his ID.”

And … apparently the sausage evidence was eaten by the dog.

Here’s an update, not nearly as tasty … It says that they’ve released the suspect, for now.

  1. Heh heh…you said fetish…

I love that story about the sausage, though. What makes it so weird is that, yeah, you could almost imagine it being some kind of kinky sex story if the “burglary” took place in a suburban home. We all know, only middle class and upper middle class people have the time and money to spend on kink.

But these guys were migrant farm workers, if I read the story correctly. What the hell?

Yeah, that’s correct. More details keep coming out and getting clarified, I suppose.

Could be that the guy was on drugs, for instance. Lots of meth out here.

Could also be a problem with these guys specifically. When several of us were first speculating about it, we imagined that it was probably a gay hate crime, or a guy hating himself gay hate crime.

It makes for lots of talk, probably all slanderous (and now that I write it, libelous). :)
