Fair day for some grease

The fair is an expensive way to pick your pocket, no matter where you live.
I went a couple of days ago, courtesy of a free ticket from a coworker whose mom works for the Big Fresno Fair That’s really the best way to do it, because otherwise, it costs $8 to get in. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get free parking this year, so I settled for paying $5 to walk through a potholey, dusty lot to get to the fairgrounds. At least I didn’t pay to park in someone’s yard for about the same price, but for a longer walk.
The damage:
$5 parking
$6 for hot fried cheese curds
$3 for 22 oz of fountain Dr Pepper even though I knew better.
$3.50 for a strawberry lemonade that wasn’t quite homemade, but not bad either. They put lemons on top of the juice container so you could imagine that the juice might have been fresh at some point. Or real.
$2 for a little stretchy bracelet of spectrolite stones. I love spectrolite/labradorite.
2 hours of my time, spent sweating, meandering and people watching.
Not a bad haul, considering.

Did you enjoy the people-watching?
It was all right. It’s more fun to do with someone else. Which is what I did.
