Is it just me?

Just today, I’ve seen two different ads somehow related to the election. One gives me $10 off clothing if I bring in proof I voted (perhaps my receipt or an I-voted sticker). Another one offers a free cup of coffee if I can prove I vote. Too bad I don’t drink coffee.
Is this a new thing, or is it just me?
Is this the new furniture store ad for holidays only school children care about? (Columbus Day, I’m looking at you)
I guess there’s nothing more patriotic than voting and then going out afterward to stimulate the economy through a little healthy spending.

Lynn’s mother said they are offering free coffee and a donut to voters in Pittsburgh. I didn’t get anything but a “sample ballot” with Replubican names checked. Not even an “I voted!” sticker. I coulda used that cup of coffee, too. It was freakin’ early!
Well, since I wrote this, I’ve read one or two other blog posts of people mentioning the same thing, although they seemed considerably less annoyed than I was.
You can go to Starbucks today, you know, and still get that coffee. But I think it’s just coffee; I only like hot chocolate.
I am somewhat tempted by the $10 off at my favorite clothing store; we’ll see if I”m in a good enough mood to go and stimulate the economy. Greedy bastards.
