Chaos, utter chaos

I had a disaster happen with my computer yesterday. Things are not completely fixed. I’m not sure I have the energy to fix them today.
So for a while, my life is in chaos. Things I need desperately, that are no longer stored on any other place except an external hard drive where the data is currently compressed and encrypted, are unavailable to me.
It’s times like these that I wish I had everything in a physical file and had a hammer I could apply to the computer.
My life is chaos. Do not expect intelligible responses from me until this is fixed.
That is all.

You’ve probably already thought of this, but have you tried calling technical support for your backup software? Tech support for your external hard drive? Most of these products have a warranty which includes some measure of tech support.
I generally get my tech support from a patient brother. We’re generally together much more useful than tech robots.
However, I seem to be getting it to work.
I also got a call this morning from occasional commenter and friend Dawn P., who offered the services of her programmer husband. If things aren’t completely back to normal, I’ll ask him before calling tech support.
Actually, I do still have a problem once all my data is restored, if it is all restored…
My wireless adapter had a fit and now I can’t use it. Perhaps that’s a question for Mr. P.
