No music

It’s bad enough that I lost my music collection to a computer meltdown. But then I lost my stereo faceplate, on my birthday, no less.

I learned that I can’t drive without music. Yesterday, I finally broke down and put one earphone in my ear while driving. It’s one of those earphones that tends to block outside sound, while making all the sounds you make near your head amplified a hundred times. So when I tried to sing, I became dismayed.

What’s worse than having no stereo in your car? Trying to use your headphones (yes, it’s unsafe, so I only used one) and then finding out that’s unpleasant. And even more unpleasant was the sound of my own voice. At least when music is playing through the speakers, I can drown out the sound of me singing.

Ugh.

So now, having been convinced I will never see my faceplate again, I have turned the the refuge of eBay. Unfortunately, I think anyone that would be in the possession of just a faceplate would probably be doing so illegally.

So then I started looking at buying the whole thing; I’d have another stereo, but at this point, I’m out of options.

I couldn’t find what I wanted at a reasonable price, so I posted a Want It Now listing. Which so far has netted me two fraudulent e-mails taking me to something entirely unrelated to stereos.

What makes it worse is that eBay makes it difficult to report these scams when you don’t have the eBay member’s ID.

Meanwhile, my faithful father has found a couple of listings for me that sound promising. I really can’t live without music.

It’s bad enough that my music collection is currently being held hostage on my iPod, used as list to compare to as I attemtp to restore all my music. But then I don’t have any music in the car? Ridiculous!

  1. Man, you can’t buy a break. :(

I would cry if I had no music in the car and a hobbled collection in the house.
