I was heartbroken when I learned that Douglas Adams had died in 2001. No more Hitchhiker’s books. I was sad, too, when I read the fragment of a a Dirk Gently book in The Salmon of Doubt, and thought, this is all there is. I want to know how it will end. And I can’t.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie is something that closely resembles but is not quite like the tea coming out of a Nutrimatic Machine. But at least you don’t spit it out and say it tastes filthy.

To the question of whether I went to the new Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie is yes, and the question of whether I loved it is double yes.
Am I excited? Yes.
New material mixed in with the familiar. Well worth the stamp of Hitchhiker’s. Not disappointed, not one little bit.
