I saw your original comment through my gmail, which asks where the el B. part came in. I think the coding symbol negated it.
Anyway, the Mel B. comes from a friend and former colleague (someone you might know, peripherally.) It was originally a name I hated, because he used it to tease me in connection to a pop culture reference at the time. But I've grown attached to it, and is useful as an Internet nickname.

You could go for Tod C. That works! I remember how you used to use Tod a lot. :)

Maybe I should opt for Tod C.?

Actually, where DID "<el b" come from? Is there a history or reason behind that name choice?

I happen to have become attached to Mel B. It also helps clear any possible confusion between the other Melissa in this community.
So I like Mel B. more than dreams, for instance, or dhalgren. ;-)

I guess it depends on how you want to be known. I like using real first names, but others might feel differently.

Here's a question... should I change my posted identity so when I write that I show up as Mel B. rather than dreams? Just curious how everyone else felt.
We have a Matt, Todd and oddly enough, DHALGREN.

This all reminds me of George Carlin's famous monologue on the difference between "shit" and "stuff." If it belongs to someone else, it's shit; if it belongs to you, it's stuff. Anyway, now that the daunting first post is out of the way, hopefully more people will post some shit...er, stuff.

The best that can be said is that yours is a nonsensical, junky post. Good job.
