Wilco Demos

You cannot be an alt-rock fan without being a fan of Wilco in my honest to garsh opinion. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is simply an extraordinary CD. And I have just located a huge number of demos from that CD free for the download. Enjoy.

Do you know where the title of that CD comes from? It’s the name of a recording on one of these CDs: The Conet Project. I first heard about it on NPR. The Wikipedia article on Wilco says they got in trouble for using that title without permission, but I can’t see how since the original recording was public domain anyway.

It’s odd you bring that up, because I just listened to that copy of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot you gave me. On my way to beautiful Yosemite.
I want to purchase a Ghost is Born… Might still do it today or next. I remember listening to that at your house and liking it.

Glad you are still digging Wilco. The newest one is good, but has one really long song that seems to be all static–personally, I think that is taking experimentalism too far.

And thanks for the history lesson, Matt. I knew absolutely nothing about where that name came from. I assumed it was random, junk drawer trash. Another balloon burst.

Speaking of randomness, I wonder what the significance is of the even numbers in the upper right corners of our comment posts?

I think it’s just the number in the number of comments made?
Look at the numbers in the other posts.
