And another one bites the dust
http://www.washingtonpost…-2005Jan26.html
Today, the Washington Post reports that another Writer Backing Bush Plan Had Gotten Federal Contract. Maggie Gallagher, a Conservative syndicated columnist, was paid about $21,000.00 to promote the President’s “marriage initiative” to “strengthen families.” True, $21,000.00 may be a pittance compared to Armstrong Williams’ salary as a shill. But it is worth noting.
Personally, I am loving this. Where will it end? I would just remind you of Tim Russert’s opinion, as stated on the Don Imus program Inauguration Day, that he believes folks in radio may be on the payroll as well.
My question is, if it is illegal for our Government to engage in clandestine propaganda campaigns against its own people, will there be prosecutions for these violations?

We thought of giving you money to promote the conservative agenda on homosexual rights, but decided you weren’t up for the job. Sorry.
Maybe abortion is your issue?

Yeah, but my stances tend to hurt the moneyed interests. Maybe I can get a nickel or two out of people going after other people’s money.
seriously, I emailed Tim Penny today and told him he would be wise to emulate the ideas in Jim Wallis’s book if he did run for gov’r of MN with the MN Independence Party.
Now, that would be a switch from the Jesse Ventura days, wouldn’t it?

I hate to contradict a good buddy, but have you forgotten that time you went door to door collecting signatures to ban the Lansing chapter of “Save Our Owls” from the city park? That may not have been the most idealistic choice of your life my friend. It may even have beneifted moneyed interests. Think of all those owl lovers unable to be with their friends: the great horned owl, the short stubby-bearded owl which hails from the great UP, the woolly-nosed mammoth owl of Houghton, and so on. Think of the isolation, the devastation you caused.

You petitioned people to ban an owl conservation group? What kind of sick monster are you?

I did no such things. I just roughed some people up rhetorically speaking so as to make sure they voted union.

You need to read that Scribblings post about verbal violence, Mr. W., once again, but slowly this time around.
